Supplies needed:
Paint Shop Pro 8,9,X or XI
Animation Shop Supply Folder or a tube and font of your choice. Xenoflex 2
Once you have the needed filter installed, open up your PSP and duplicate your
tube and close out the original. And make sure you have either opened the
pattern in PSP or put it in the pattern folder.
1. Open a new transparent image 500 X 500 and flood fill it with black
2. Now choose 2 colors from your tube, a light one for your foreground color and
a darker one for the background color. The easiest way to do this is to grab the
dropper tool and left click for the foreground and right click for the
background. I used #fbe5f2 for the foreground and #f3bcd1 for the background.
3. Now select your preset shape tool and select the shape Arrow 12. I believe
this shape comes in the PSP Program if you don’t have it you can download it
HERE from rapidshare. Your line should be solid, create as a vector checked,
Anti-Alias checked and width 10.00. Now what you are going to do is “draw” the
arrows to the shape of your canvas, remember that you can use the nodes to
stretch it out so it fits. Then convert it to a raster layer.
4. Now grab your magic wand tool and use these settings: Mode: Add (Shift),
Match mode: RGB Value, Tolerance: 20, Feather: 0 Now click on the inside of the
black areas, and Then go to selections – modify – expand by 3, then add a new
raster layer.
5. Now grab your cloning tool, and choose an area of the tube to clone.. to do
this, make sure that if the canvas that has your tube has more than one layer
that the layer the tube is on I active on your layer pallet, and left click to
select the area that will be cloned, then go onto your work in progress and
right
click to place it in the black areas, you will need to click several times to
get it to look proper. Use the settings below for your cloning tool:
Select none.
6. Now lower the opacity of this layer to about 46, and move it blow the “arrow”
layer.
7. Once again grab your magic wand tool, and make the top layer active. Now
click on the outline of the arrows ( see example below ) and flood fill with the
silver pattern and then promote selection to layer. Select none. Now hide this
layer and then merge visible.
8. Now resize your tube to 212 X 450 ( this is an apx measurement, depending on
the tube that you are using) and paste your tube as a new layer, and the tube
should now be the top layer on your canvas.
9. Now add your text, you can either use the font that I used or you can choose
one of your choice.
10. Now make the layer that we flood filled the outline with the silver active.
Now go to selection s - select all – selections – float – selections – defloat.
11. Now go to effects – plug ins – alien skin Xenofex 2 – Constellation and use
the settings below:
12. Now once you have applied the effect, select none, and copy merge, and paste
it over to Animation Shop as a new animation.
13. Now back to PSP, click your undo button 2 times, and repeat step 11 but the
only thing you are going to do different is click the random seed button 2
times, and when you paste it to AS you will paste it after current frame. Now
repeat this step one more time.
14. Now just animate it and save it and your done!!
