Tag you’re it!

Supplies needed:
Tube of your choice or you can download the one I used HERE
Paint Shop Pro 8,9,X or XI
I did this in X but it can be done in the earlier versions.
Font of your choice
Gold Pattern
I did not use any external filters to do this tutorial.

1. Open the tube of your choice or you can use mine.

2. Now open a new transparent canvas 500 X 500

3. Grab your preset shape tool and select the rounded rectangle shape. Now select the gold pattern. Set your foreground color to the gold pattern, and the background to null and use these settings.. Anti-Alias checked, Create as a vector checked, line style, solid, and width 10.00 and draw a rectangle that is long in length. And then convert the layer to a raster layer.

4. Now change the shape to the ellipse, and change the width to 5.00 and place a small circle up near the top. You want it to look like a little hole that a key ring would go through. Now convert it to a raster layer. Now hide the bottom layer and merge visible.

5. Now go to effects – 3D effects – Inner Bevel. And use the settings below…

6. Now duplicate this layer. Now grab your pick tool ( this is the same thing as the raster deform tool in version 9) now rotate the duplicate layer counter clockwise and align the holes. And now once you have it where you want it, hide this layer.

7. Now grab your magic wand, and use these settings.. Mode: Add(Shift), Match Mode: RGB Value Tolerance: 20 Contiguous Feather: 0, Anti-Alias: unchecked, and click on the inside of the first (bottom rectangle (the original one( make sure you have that layer active on your layer pallet) and you will now see the marching ants.
8. Now go to selections – modify – expand and use the number 3. Now add a new raster layer.

9. Flood fill it with black or if you are using a different tube than I did, use a color that matches the tube. DO NOT DESELECT YET!

10. Now, copy your tube and paste it into selection onto your canvas. Select none. Now move this layer below the rectangle.
And merge visible.

11. Now hide that layer and unhide the top layer and make sure it is active on your layer pallet. Now you are going to use your magic wand like we just did, and expand the ants like we just did. Add a new raster layer. And flood fill it with the same color you flood filled the other one. Select none. Now drop the opacity of this layer to about 30. Now move the rectangle above this layer. And merge visible.

12. Now unhide the rest of the layers and merge visible again. Now you should have only 1 layer. If you need to move it on your canvas so you can have a better position to work do so now.

13. Now you need to grab your preset shape tool once again, and the ellipse shape should still be there. The only thing you need to change is the width.. Change that to 7.00 and once again your foreground color should be the same pattern as before, and the background null. Now “Draw” a oval kinda big but not too big. And convert it to a raster layer.

14. Now add an inner bevel using the same settings as before.

15. If you need to grab your mover tool and move it do so now. You want it where the bottom loop is like in the middle of the small circle. Now grab your eraser tool, and use the settings below,

you may need to adjust the size. Now what you are going to need to do is erase part of the large ring. See the example below.. Between the pointing fingers is what gets erased. This gives it the effect that the ring looks like a regular ring that tags would hang from.

15. Now merge visible, and crop the canvas to get rid of the excess width and height.
Now add your text.
Merge visible.

Now what we are going to do next is save it as a .gif using the GIF optimizer.

1. Go to file – Export – GIF Optimizer and use the settings below…

And also I have included the wizard settings below...
