Supplies Needed:
PSP 8,9,10
Animation Shop
Supply Folder
The font that I used is included in the supply folder.
My son Christopher who is only 11 helped me design this tag. He is an aspiring PSP artist. And will have an area on this website in the near future.
I didn't use any external effects, everything I used is already in your psp, except the mask.
Ready? Ok lets get started…. Got the mask installed?
I wrote this in PSP X so you may need to make some small adjustments if doing this in an older version.
1. Now open a new image 500 X 500, background black, we will resize it later.
2. Now we are going to add a simple frame, I used the color #6b91be… Go to selections ~ select all…. Selections ~ modify ~ contract: 15…. Now back to selections ~ invert. Add a new raster layer… and now flood fill the inside of the marching ants… select none. Go to effects ~ 3D effects ~ inner bevel. And add an inner bevel to it. I suggest playing with the settings to get the desired look that you want.
3. Highlight the bottom layer, now add a new raster layer…. Now flood fill this layer with a color of your choice, Go to layers ~ Load/Save mask ~ from disk and select the chandelier mask that I put in the supply folder. And click "ok" now "merge group" now hide this layer…repeat this step until you have a total of 4 layers that you have applied the mask to, but changing the colors each time.
4. Now, make the tube… Listening to tunes active find the tube layer, and make that layer active, now copy it, and then paste it as a new image, now go to image ~ resize ~ W: 276 H: 415 pixels
5. Now copy it and paste it as a new layer onto your canvas, grab your mover tool and move it over to the left, and line up the bottom of the tube to the bottom part of your frame. Please use my tag as an example.
6. Now make the image Penguin Dj active, and find the layer named "Turntable" and make it active on the layer pallet, and then copy it, and now paste it as a new layer onto your canvas, and move it to the bottom right, I have it over lapping my frame some.
7. Now do we are going to copy the Penguin and paste him onto our canvas as a new layer, and move him over to the turn table. Now… move the turntable layer on top of the Penguin layer. Now grab your "Pick" tool, if you are using PSP X it is located right there with your mover tool, now there should be a box around the Penguin, if not, make that layer active on your layer pallet, now resize it some, make sure you do it evenly, using the nodes, like when you create text as a vector.
8. Now Highlight the Penguin image and locate the layer "R speaker" and copy it. Now paste it as a new image, and resize it to W: 65 H: 150 Now paste it onto your canvas as a new layer, and move it over to the top right corner, but line it up to the frame so it looks like it is hanging off of the frame. Now duplicate this layer, and go to image ~ mirror. You may need to move it some so it looks like the right hand side one. And then merge down.
9. Now add your text and watermark
10. Now on your layer pallet, locate the tube layer, and move it to the top. And hide it.
11. Zoom in on your canvas so you will be able to see what you are doing batter.
12. Now grab your freehand tool, and make the speaker layer active on your layer pallet, now use these settings…. Selection type: point to point Mode: add (shift) Feather: 1 anti-alias: unchecked and draw around the speaker, not the box, what we are going to do is make the speaker move like real speakers do when you play music. When doing this click often. Trace all 4 of the speakers. The speakers should now look like the one below.

13. Now once you have all 4 of the speakers with the marching ants running around, go to effects ~ Distortion effects ~ pinch and put the strength as 10% then select none.
14. Now select your "pick" tool and highlight the Penguin layer, and rotate him some to the left. But you don't want the corner on the right hand side to show above the turntable.
15. Now unhide your tube layer, and the first layer that you applied the mask to, and right click on the top of your canvas and select ~ Copy ~ copy merged. Now paste it as a new image.
16. Back to your canvas, click your undo button until you have the marching ants, then click it one more time, this will undo the pinch effect that we applied a little bit ago, apply the pinch effect again, but this time increase it to 15% then select none, unhide the tube layer, and the second layer that you applied the mask to. And copy merge it again, and paste it onto the other image that we just pasted .. but paste it as a new layer.
17. Now click your undo button 4 times, and go back to effects ~ distortion effects ~ pinch and change the amount to 20%.. select none now unhide the tube layer, and the third layer that you applied the mask to.. and copy merge it and paste it as a new layer on the other image.
18. Now click your undo button 4 times, and we are going to add the pinch effect again, but changing it to 25%. Now select none.
19. Now locate the Penguin layer and select your "pick" tool and rotate it to the right, just like before when we rotated it to the left.
20. Now unhide your tube layer, and the 4th mask layer, and copy merge and paste it like before.
21. Now this is when I resized it, I resized it to 400 X 400 pixels. And now save it as a .pspimage
22. Open up animation shop and open the saved image, now go to edit ~ select all… Now go to Animation ~ Frame properties, and change the 10 to a 20. animate it and save it and your are done!
Animate it and save it and you are done!
