Supplies needed:

PSP 8,9,X or XI

Animation Shop

Supply Folder

Xenofex 2

Before you get started, put the mask into your mask folder in psp.

There are 2 files in the supply folder that will appear blank when you open them in psp, these are actually not blank, these are the alpha channels for needed selections in this tutorial. Just minimize them in psp.

Ok before we start, go grab your drink, snacks, or whatever you need.

Ready?

Good, let’s get started!

Open a new transparent image 443 X 487

Now flood fill it with white

Now add a new raster layer, and flood fill it with a light grey.

Go to layers – Load/Save Mask – Load mask from disk and locate the 76-kris mask that I supplied in the folder that you installed into your mask folder in psp. Now once you have applied the mask, merge group.

Now copy your tube and paste it onto your canvas as a new layer, and move it to the left. You can reposition it later so it doesn’t have to in the exact spot right now.

Now add a new raster layer, and set your foreground color to white, and your background color to black.

Now go to selections – load/save selection – load selection from alpha channel and select the FriendsSelection1, now flood fill the selection with your background color. And select none.

Now add another new raster layer, and go to selections – load/save selection – load selection from alpha channel and select the FriendsSelection2, now flood fill the selection with your foreground color. And select none.

Now add a new raster layer.

Make your tube layer active and select your cloning tool, and select an area of one of the faces ( left click to select the area you want to clone)

Make the layer with the black boxes active and go to selections – select all – float. Now right click and place the image inside one of the boxes. Just keep clicking until you have your desired look (don’t worry if you get some of the girl next to the one you chose, you can clean it up with your eraser tool later) select none.

Now add another new raster layer and repeat the steps 10 and 11.

Now if you need to grab your mover tool to position the faces better you can, and also this is a good time to clean them up with your eraser tool. Now when you have them looking the way you want them to look, hide all of the other layers except the layers with the faces (should be the top 3 layers) on them, and merge visible.

Now move your tube layer to the top of your layer pallet

Now we are going to add our text.

Now add a drop shadow to the text layer, the tube layer, and the black boxes. You can either use your own settings or the ones that I used:

Color:Black

Now highlight the layer that we applied the second selection to and flood filled with white. Go to selections – select all – selections – float – selections – defloat.

Now go to effects – plugins – Alien Skin Xenofex 2 – Constellation and use the settings below.

Select none.

Now if you don’t already have animation shop open, open it now. Now copy merge your canvas and paste it over to animation shop as a new animation

Now back in PSP, click your undo button, you should have the marching ants back and the solid white lines there, now go to the Constellation effect again and hit the “random seed” button 2 X’s and select none

And copy merge your canvas over to animation shop and paste it “after current frame”

Now repeat steps 22 and 23.

Now animate it and save it and you are done!
