Ok, grab your drink, snack, or whatever else you need
to do this.
Now before we start, duplicate (Shift + D) the tube and
close out the original one. Because we will be working on the duplicate canvas.
Now I put a black background on mine, if you want a
background add a new raster layer and flood fill it with the color of your
choice and then merge visible.
Now grab your freehand tool (the lasso) and draw around
the page (see example).
Now promote selection to layer. And Select “None”
Now grab your Pick Tool (If you are using a version of
PSP older than X.. use your deform tool. It's the same thing). Now you should have a box
around it with nodes, go to the top right corner, and press your shift key down,
and pull the node up slightly. And do the same with the bottom right hand node.
Then release the shift key and go to the center node on the right and drag it
some towards the left.
Now on your layer pallet, duplicate this layer.
Now go to the top right corner, and press your shift
key down, and pull the node up slightly. And do the same with the bottom right
hand node. Then release the shift key and go to the center node on the right and
drag it some towards the left.
Now on your layer pallet, duplicate this layer.
Now with your pick tool, grab the center node on the
right and once again pull it towards the left.
You want to keep duplicating it until you get to the
center. So otherwise, you move it, duplicate it, move it, and duplicate it. Each
time you duplicate it, you move the new layer.
Once you get to the center, rename your layers, I named
mine, R1, R2, R3, (the “R” stands for right for the right side of the book) and
so on. And hide them.
Now what we are going to do is… repeat the steps that
we just did, but on the left side of the book.
Make the book layer active, and grab your freehand
tool, and draw the outline like before but on the left hand side of the book.
Remember to promote the selection to a layer, and then
select none. Now move this layer to the top (Layers – arrange – move to top).
Now we are going to do the same thing as before…
Now grab your Pick Tool.
And do the same with the bottom right
hand node. Then release the shift key and go to the center node on the left and
drag it some towards the right.
Now when you get to the center, rename the layers I
renamed them L1, L2, L3, now the next steps can be a little tricky, you will
need to move the layers the L1 layer will need to become the top layer, and the
L2, layer will need to be the second from the top and so on. You need to do this
so it looks like the page is going from the right to the left. So.. say you have
7 of the left side layers, when you look at your layer pallet from the top, it
should look like, L1,L2,L3,L4,L5,L6,L7..then if you ended up with 7 layers of
the right side it will be R7,R6,R5,R4,R3,R2,R1, tube layer. I then renamed the
layers again to read P1,P2,P3,P4,P5,P6 and so on (“P” standing for page).
Ok, now the next step is to duplicate your tube layer
for each page layer you have, now, remember that you need to have the original
one on the bottom, and then a copy of it, then R1, and so on. After I got all of
my tube layers in place, I renamed the tube layer to B1,B2,B3,B4 (“B” standing
for book) and so on so it would match with the proper page numbers.
Now, hide all of the layers, and start from the bottom
of the layers, unhide B1 and P1, and then merge visible, and hide it, and repeat
this step with B2 and P2 and work your way up.
Once you are at the top of the layer pallet, grab your
Text tool and add your text, and watermark.
And you are going to move that layer to the bottom, and
duplicate it, like you did before with your tube layer, with this one I started
at the top of the layer pallet and just merged down the text layer.
Now save it as a .psp and open Animation Shop.
Open your saved .psp image, animate it, save it and
your done!
